Whether I am working with a client or with a fellow Herbalife Health Coach in the Rochelle area, one thing always comes up at some time during the meeting. Its usually in other words, but the underlying question is "how do I achieve success in this area?" Its a question we all want to know because it determines our level of action we need to take. If its weight loss, business, fitness, muscle tone, success in feeling better, or success in maintaining your healthy habits, we all want success in the things we do.

3 Keys To Success
There are many things that affect whether we are successful. Some things are specific to the task, such as being able to drive is essential to becoming a successful racecar driver. Even if you do everything else, you must do this thing in order to achieve success there. Now of course driving is less essential if you simply want to own a racecar and driver, but there are other essentials to that success. What I am going to share with you is the principles of success, and how to achieve it in all areas. You job after reading this is to apply it to your own goals.
First Key
Many people think they have goals, but these goals are really just wishes. One of my mentors taught me that a goal is a wish with a timeline. This true statement pulled me from where most people are and put me on the path I walk today, setting clear and concise goals with timelines attached. The first key to any type of success is to determine your goal. Before you read ahead thinking that you have goals, let me share with you what a realy goal actually is. A goal consists of a clearly defined finish line, a clear number or quanitity, and a clear timeline. For instance, losing weight is a wish where the goal to the wish would be losing 15 pounds by July 31 to reach a goal weight of 150 pounds. Do you see the difference? Another mentor of mine named Darren Hileman taught me "if you aim at nothing, you hit it everytime." Just losing weight is like aiming at nothing, but losing 15 pounds is a mark you can take aim toward.
Second Key
Once you have turned your wish into a goal, its time to put the second key into practice. Many people go wrong in this area because they simply start doing all kinds of random things to reach their goal. Let me share with you a mental picture. If you are going to take a trip across the country, what is the first thing you need? Truly the first thing is a map to show you the way. In a world of GPS device abundance, imagine with me an old fashinshioned road manp of the US. A map lets you know where you start and end, what routes to take and what things you will see along the way. It even shows milemarkers to tell you that by traveling a certain speed you will arrive at a specific time. The second key to success is to determine a course of action, or create a map to your goal. This is essential because it will help you do the right things daily to make the proper progress in order to reach your goal by the time you determined. Set a clear plan, with detailed daily activities so that when your motivation fades you can look at your plan an execute the same way everyday, which brings us to the third key to success.
Third Key
Another mentor of mine by the name of Jim Rohn told me that some things need to be done daily to benefit you. He said that an apple a day may keep the doctor away, but 7 apples on saturday won't do the same thing. Jim was right, and most thing are this same way. When you take action daily you create a habit, and habits form your lifestyle. Your lifestyle is why we set goals in the first place. The third key to creating and enhancing success is being consistent. In a book by Darren Hardy called The Compound Effect, he talks about the power of consistency over time and how great monuments can be built if you will only place one brick per day of the next few years. He also shares the illistration of the penny that doubles by the day, which shows that consistency over time actually compounds to create lasting success. I always tell my clients that they quickest way to get nowhere is to keep changing what you are doing. Whatever your plan is, be sure you do it everyday. John Maxwell once said "You only truly change when you change something you do daily." So be consistent, make a small change that you can keep up with everyday and watch the results compound. If you try to much at one time, you won't keep it up but small changes over time are lasting changes.
Without a destination, a clear plan in place, and consistent action you become like a ship without a rudder, floating along wherever the current takes you. These keys will serve you well whether you are trying to lose weight, build a business from home, get a six-pack, or any other goal. At Complete Core Wellness we beleive you deserve to be healthy, happy, and successful, and its our goal to help in all of those.
